Laurence Harding is a photographic artist, living in Leigh on Sea, Essex. After graduating with a BA in Photography from the University of Westminster in 2013, she pursued further studies on the Southend-based Alternative Master’s degree, The Other MA.

Throughout her art practice, she not only explores and challenges the nature of the photographic print, but also investigates the material qualities of the medium.

She specialises in analogue, experimental and historic photography processes and is currently exploring more sustainable working practices.

She is particularly interested in the history of place and the environment being an active ‘participant’ in the making of the work.

Her studio is based at The Old Waterworks, an artist hub in Southend-on-Sea.

Alongside commissioned projects and exhibitions, she regularly leads workshops and courses in schools, colleges, art galleries and various organisations, in Essex and London. Her work has been exhibited in London, Brighton, Suffolk and throughout Essex.
